Residential & commercial HVAC · Southwest Florida
When the air conditioning stops, the next hour is the one that matters.
Thornquil is a Southwest Florida HVAC company built around how these calls actually arrive: urgently, from a hot house, on a phone. Tell us what is happening and pick a window — or call and speak to someone who can schedule you while you are still on the line.

What's happening?
What a technician checks
It's running, but the air isn't cold
- Temperature split across the indoor coil, measured under load
- Refrigerant charge verified against the equipment's own target
- Airflow and filter restriction — a starved system cannot cool
- Whether the outdoor unit is running when the thermostat calls
Your answer carries into the booking form — you will not be asked again.
What we do
Six services, each one written out properly.
AC Repair
Same-dayDiagnosis and repair for systems that stopped cooling, stopped starting, or started doing something new.
- The air coming out is warm, or barely moving
- The thermostat is calling but nothing outside is running
- The unit starts, runs briefly, then shuts off again
System Replacement & Installation
Right-sized replacement systems, installed to a written scope, with the ductwork and airflow checked as part of the job.
- Repairs are becoming routine rather than occasional
- The system is old enough that parts availability is a question
- Some rooms have never been comfortable, regardless of the thermostat
Preventive Maintenance
Scheduled inspection and service that catches the failures worth catching — drains, capacitors, airflow and charge.
- The system has not been inspected in over a year
- You just bought the house and have no history on the equipment
- The system runs, but you would rather not find out its condition in July
Indoor Air Quality
Humidity control, filtration and ventilation — assessed by measurement, addressed at the cause.
- A musty smell when the system starts up
- The house feels damp even when the thermostat is satisfied
- Condensation or staining around supply vents
Ductwork & Airflow
Sealing, repair, redesign and return correction for the half of the system nobody sees.
- One room, or one end of the house, never keeps up
- Rooms with the door closed are noticeably worse
- The system is loud at the vents, or whistles
Commercial HVAC
Same-dayRooftop units, split systems and multi-zone light commercial — with the scheduling and reporting a business actually needs.
- A rooftop or split unit has stopped, or is not keeping up with occupancy
- Zones that fight each other, or a space nobody can make comfortable
- Repeat failures on the same unit with no record of what was done before
Why people stay
No badges. Just how we work.
You get the findings in writing — readings, photos, what failed and why — whether or not you book the repair.
A price before the work, not after it
Repairs are quoted as a flat figure from a rate book and agreed before anything is opened up. No hourly meter, and no second conversation about the number once the job is done.
The findings in writing, either way
Readings, photographs, what failed and why. You keep the report whether or not you book the repair, and it is yours to take to anyone else.
Repair stays on the table
A recommendation to replace has to be justified in writing against the cost of repairing. A technician who cannot make that case will not make the recommendation.
Arrival windows we actually hold
A window is scheduled against real capacity for your zone. If it slips, you hear it from us before it slips, not afterwards.
One technician, one accountable record
Every visit is recorded against your equipment rather than against an invoice, so the next decision is made with the last five visits in view.
No work without a yes
If the job changes once it is open, it stops and you are asked. Scope does not expand quietly.
What happens next
Request to follow-up, with nothing left vague.
Request
Book online in a few taps or call. You tell us what you are seeing, where the property is, and when suits you — not your life story.
You get A reference number, on screen and by text
Schedule
We confirm an arrival window against real availability for your area rather than a vague promise to 'be out today'.
You get A confirmed date and arrival window
Technician assigned
You are told who is coming and when they are on the way, so nobody spends an afternoon waiting by a window.
You get Name, photo, and an on-the-way notification
Diagnosis
The system is tested under load and the readings are recorded. What failed, and why it failed, both get answered.
You get Readings and photos of what we found
Approval
You see a flat price and the reasoning before any work starts. If there is a decision to make between repair and replacement, you see both sets of numbers.
You get A written quote you approve, or decline
Service
The approved work is carried out and verified. If something changes mid-job, work stops and you are asked before it continues.
You get The work done, and the verification readings
Follow-up
A summary of the visit, the parts used, anything we would keep an eye on, and your next service date if you have one.
You get A written visit record kept against your equipment
Behind the request
What happens after you tap Schedule Service?
On most home-services websites, a booking form sends an email and the work of running the job starts over in someone's inbox. It does not have to. Every stage below is the same event seen twice — once by the customer, once by the business — and recorded once.
- 01
Lead
You submit the request and get a reference number immediately.
In the systemA structured job record is created — service type, symptom, property type, address, availability — not a plain-text email someone has to re-key.
- 02
Schedule
You receive a confirmed date and arrival window.
In the systemThe job is matched against real capacity for that zone and day, and the window is held rather than promised.
- 03
Technician
You are told who is coming, and when they are on the way.
In the systemThe job is assigned with the customer's own description and the equipment history already attached to it.
- 04
Status updates
Findings, photos and a quote arrive while the technician is still on site.
In the systemReadings and approvals are captured against the job, so the record is written once, at the point it happens.
- 05
Completion
You get the visit summary, the invoice, and your next service date.
In the systemThe job closes into the equipment's history and the maintenance schedule, where it informs the next visit.
This is the concept, not the application. The working version — dispatch board, technician view, live job status — is a separate build, and it has its own demo.

Repair or replace: how to actually decide
The rules of thumb people repeat are mostly wrong. Here is the arithmetic that isn't, plus the two questions that decide it faster than any formula.

System design
Why a bigger system makes a Florida house feel worse
The most expensive mistake in residential HVAC on this coast is buying more capacity than the house needs — and it feels like a comfort problem, not a sizing one.

Air quality
Indoor air quality, in the order that actually matters
Filtration is the part everyone buys first and the part that fixes the least. Here is the sequence that works, starting with the number you should be measuring.

Maintenance
What maintenance is actually for
Half of what is sold as a tune-up is cosmetic. The parts that genuinely prevent breakdowns are measurable, and you can ask to see them.

Before you call
The questions we get asked most.
How quickly can someone get here?
For a no-cool call in our core area, same day is normally achievable if you reach us in the morning. Rather than promising a time we cannot hold, the booking flow shows the windows that are actually open for your area and lets you take one.
What does the visit cost?
A diagnostic visit is $89. It covers the trip and a full assessment of the system, and it is credited toward the repair if you approve the work the same day. Repairs are then quoted as a flat price before anything starts.
Do you work on systems you didn't install?
Yes — most repair calls are on equipment somebody else installed, and it makes no difference to how the visit runs.
Do I have to join a plan to be a customer?
No. Thornquil Care exists because twice-yearly service genuinely suits equipment on this coast, not because it is a gate. Everything we do is available without it.
Anything else, ask on the phone — (239) 555-0142.
Tell us what's happening. We'll take it from there.
About a minute to book online, and you will know who is coming and when before you put the phone down. Repairs are quoted as a flat price before any work starts. You approve the number, not an hourly rate that grows while you watch.
